Just got here to Austin. It's sweltering here but nice and cool in the convention center. I arrived in time to see Howard Dean speak about registering voters -- I missed the DNC presentation of their phenomenal web tool to sign up to knock on doors before the election. More on that later. Now I'm off to meet Mark Begich. More later...

Is anyone here in Austin? What have you seen? What else is going on?

Update [2008-7-17 16:22:49 by Jonathan Singer]: Reminder for folks here in Austin to come to the MyDD caucus -- 4:30pm in room 17A.

Shem posted a great diary on this yesterday, but for anyone who missed it checkout his site:

Running for Office: It's Like A Flamewar with a Forum Troll, but with an Eventual Winner

Sean is looking to retire Arlen Siegfreid, and anti-choice, pro-teaching-creationism, pro-domestic-surveillance dinosaur.

Sean already has 4x the number of donations of any previous Kansas state representative and is asking for $8.34 from 3,000 people to put this non-evolved monkey back in his cage.

Sean is One of Us.  Given the guy a sawbuck and get Creationism out of the frickin' schools!

So when is this site going to get the upgrades we keep hearing about.

We badly need self-moderating here.

"We badly need self-moderating here."

I believe those attending..will return with a new energy...
Those of us...who during the last 7 years have involved ourselves with conferences..actions..
have always had our personal commitment batteries recharged...
It reinforces that there is an enemy..but it isn't US....and we are not alone...

Here in Denver..and in Minneapolis there will be ten's of thousands gathering to provide serious questions and demanding serious answers...

(yes..here in Denver..Rage against the Machine and others will be will be a part of the question..)
So travel to MN..travel here to CO...

as for self-moderating...
